Sorry for the long time of silence

Oh yes, I am so sorry for the long time of silence, however there is a reason. Not like in the pic, I have not been on a holiday :-) the pic is there to point to the fact it is summer in Sweden and really warm.
Last summer I got seriously sick, weird sick and since it started at the same time as we found mold in my home we thought all my health problems were related to that. The landlord didnīt take it to seriously and I was left here living in an apartment affected with really high levels of mold. Our landlord did take care of the problem in the hallway during fall and fixed that, but when doing that he also spread the mold.
By Christmas I was sooo sick and I can honestly say I donīt remember much of the best season in the year. First after New year they came to *smoke* and clear my home from all mold but then it was too late for me. The stress in the situation got to me and I ended up in the hospital with a massive heartfailure. It was really bad at first but all medication fixed me and I finally got back home after almost a month in the heartclinic.
I had a lot of help at first from the community homenursing system but since first of June I am taking care of myself again.
The Swedish Midsummerīs weekend

Yes, this weekend it is the Swedish Midsummer and most people here is celebrating that with all the old traditions we have around this event.
We have special food, like fresh potatoes with a special herring and a cold sauce. That is a must on the table at Midsummer, together with the desert you can see in the photo. Strawberries with creame! We do a lot of outdoor activity together with family and friends and we have a special Maypool decorated with wild season flowers in our gardens or at big open spaces where people can get together to dance around it.
This year we got heavy rain all day so not many could be on the outside. Parts of my big family were brave enough to take the small kids out to do the most beloved dances and games. They were very wet when they came back inside but who cares at Midsummer, it´s only water, it will dry up.
A long terrible month

Yes, it´s been a long terrible month without my little dog.
I miss him every day and it is so empty without him.
They say life has to go on, but that doesn´t make it any easier.
I am still struggling.

Spring is finally here for real and it is looking very nice on the outside,
with springflowers and the trees turning green again.
Soon it will be yet another summer.
I try to go for a walk every day so I wont just be sitting still.
That is not good for my pain and walkingproblems so I must be
moving, no matter what.
Reading the news makes me belive the world is a really sick place.
There is no end to all bad things people are doing to each other.
Terrible wars, bombings, killing hundreds of people in one blow.
Where will this end? It happens almost every day!!
Then there are all chriminals getting away with terrible things.
At least here in Sweden it seems like that.
If cought they get almost no jailtime even if they killed someone.
They can always blame eachother and no one get punished.
It is as if the victim was to blame for getting murdered instead.
Or claiming they are mentally ill, get locked up as a psycho, and
be released after only a few months. Ready to do it again.
It is so weird.
My little friend has left me

My little dog is dead!

His name was Dostoj and he was the nicest little dog anyone could have. He´s been with us since he was just a little puppy and he was now 14 years old. Early Friday morning we had to take him to the Vet to get help putting him to sleep. There were no other option. That went well and was not so hard as I had imagine. He just fell asleep, very calm and never suffered any pain. Getting back home without him was the worst part. Gosh, how I miss him. It is really hard trying to go on without him after all these years together.
He was very much my dog, always following me like a shadow, resting at my feet as soon as I sat down, sleeping next to me every night. I really can´t belive he is gone, keep turning to call him, still hearing the *tapp, tapp* on the floor behind me as soon as I moved around. It is so empty and quiet without him.
Oh, I have my family, my grandkids and my birds, but Dostoj was the love of my life, so very special and dear.
Rest in piece my little friend!
Finally winter in Sweden!

Yes, we finally got winter here in Sweden

Had to wait a long time for that to happen. Oh, where I live on the westcoast, it is not much snow, but the rest of the country is white like in a Christmas card. I am sorry for not being here for weeks, we have been through a really bad flue, starting over and over again, so my strength is not the best, fighting health problems as it is.
However I have been really busy together with my best mate and partner online, Dave Underwood, making KMPAM radio station grow. Dave found us a new and much better broadcast software to use, and he also turned us into a mp3Pro Station.
He is broadcasting every morning and evening, his time (Australia) and I try to be on air at least once a week, every Tuesday evening, my time GMT+1.
You will find us here:
Just click the Jukebox to get to the Kmpam Website to listen. We are playing the best pop-rock for you!
This is just a short update to let you know I am still around.
Oh, and please stop posting spam to this site, I am deleting so many wrong postings every day. I do not like what you are trying to sell and will go on deleting your postings.
Grandma Maggie
Not the best start of the New Year...

Well, I don´t know about you, but where I am in Sweden it has been nothing but extreme weather from day one of 2007.

Belive it or not but last Sunday we got hit by a hurricane, named Per!! It really did some large damage to the West/South/East of Sweden. 6 people lost their lives from falling trees, it was terrible. At first I though it wasn´t so bad and I did manage to go to sleep, just to wake up a few hours later to a noice as if a train were coming through my window. Geez, I though the windows were going to crack!! Talk about winds. That was the second big storm in only a few days time and almost 300.000 homes were left without power. Most of them on the countryside where roads were blocked, buses couldn´t drive and all trains from Stockholm to the southern/west parts of Sweden were cancelled as well. It was like a war zone.......

Wishing you the best for the New year 2007

Happy New year all my visitors! Wishing you all the best for 2007.

Sorry I missed out on the Christmas wishes, but I got sick and haven´t been sitting here that much. I do hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
Here in Sweden we got a green Christmas, no snow at all so it was a little weird. But Christmas was very nice anyway. Santa came as always on the 24th in the evening, as he always does here where I live. I guess I had been good since I got so many nice gifts from my big family. From my son I got a new very nice keyboard to my pc, I am typing on it now :-)
I also got very nice new music, among the cd´s I found ABBA - number ones. Really great!
Well, what can I say about the old year? We all know what happend just before New Years Eve, but I wont comment on that.
It´s been a weird year 2006. Started with the worst winter ever followed by the warmest, longest summer that never ended.
We still have rather warm weather when it´s supposed to be winter............

The best time of the year.......

Yes, the best time of the year starts in just a few days time :-)
Here in Sweden it is the first Sunday of the 4 Sundays before Christmas. Oh, a few days before the first Sunday, you can see people preparing their decorations and some even light up their electric candelabras in the windows.

I can barely wait! I do love Christmas and everything surrounding that Holiday season. In my family we are Christmas freaks all of us and we always try to make the most of it. So many things are done from old traditions and it´s very important to us to keep that.
Now, with my ongoing healthproblem there isn´t much I can do to help my daughters, but at least I can sit on a chair reading the recipes on our big baking day.
Already in the middle of this week there is the big cleaning all windows day, when the special Christmas curtains will replace my ordinary ones. That is a job for my husband and my daughter Maria. I will stay out of the way! Then all our electric candelabras will be shining up our windows and on next Sunday, the first of Advent, we will sit down together to light up the first candle and to read a special poem. Again, that is family tradition. The weather here in Sweden is still not like winter. It´s rain, rain and then some more rain and it is too warm for the season. Hopefully it will change since we all want a white Christmas.

Autumn leaves are falling......

Finally the summer is over,

and it is starting to look like this outside. So nice to look at. It´s been a very rare, hot and long summer but now we are getting closer to winter every day. Already lots of snow up north of Sweden. I now I haven´t been updating here for a long time, so sorry about that. The summer really knocked me out and I have been very sick and in terrible pain. Not much have been done to all my pages for almost 4 months now. They are still there however. The only thing that has kept me going is my Support job at Mpam, forcing me to at least sit down at pc several time / day. The rest is in a mess but I am slowly starting to catch up.
Here in Sweden we have a new goverment and they didn´t start very well. New scandals every day and so far 2 new ministers have been forced to leave after just 8-10 days. Media is on the hunt digging up dirt. God knows what tomorrow will bring. However it is not good to find out that they have been cheating the system, not paying taxes and national fees and things like that. Our new Financial Minister had used a *nanny* on a regular basis paying her under the table for years. So far he refuses to leave. The Minister of Culture had neglected to pay for the radio and telly licens for 16 years and was brought to Justice. She was kicked out. Another top Minister never paid taxes for her multi million houses, they were owned by companies registered in Jersey. She was also kicked out.
