Not the best start of the New Year... Posted on Friday, January 19 @ 21:38:18 MST

Well, I don´t know about you, but where I am in Sweden it has been nothing but extreme weather from day one of 2007.
Belive it or not but last Sunday we got hit by a hurricane, named Per!! It really did some large damage to the West/South/East of Sweden. 6 people lost their lives from falling trees, it was terrible. At first I though it wasn´t so bad and I did manage to go to sleep, just to wake up a few hours later to a noice as if a train were coming through my window. Geez, I though the windows were going to crack!! Talk about winds. That was the second big storm in only a few days time and almost 300.000 homes were left without power. Most of them on the countryside where roads were blocked, buses couldn´t drive and all trains from Stockholm to the southern/west parts of Sweden were cancelled as well. It was like a war zone.......
Now almost a week later we are again wating for a storm to hit us.
This time together with heavy snowfall, starting early tomorrow morning. Could be looking at something like this when waking up tomorrow.
We were lucky to be spared from yesterdays bad storm that hit the UK and parts of the Europe coastline down to France. It´s been a terrible beginning of the new year, that´s for sure. Wonder how this will end, and for how long we are going to face this extreme weather. Weather is the number one talk of the day here, followed by all comments about our new leader for the Socialdemokrat´s parti. Media is really trying to dig up all kinds of dirt again about Mrs. Mona Sahlin. Who knows, she can really become the first, not royal female, leading Sweden after next election :-) Have a nice weekend!
